Tables, fenced code blocks with syntax highlighting, task lists, and strikethrough all render properly — not just plain text with symbols in it. The output keeps your original filename (upload 'my-readme.md', download 'my-readme.pdf') and never adds a watermark.

Only images embedded directly in the file as a data URI (base64). Remote image URLs — like badges from shields.io, or a screenshot linked from elsewhere — aren't fetched during conversion, as a security precaution, so they won't appear in the output.
Headings, tables, fenced code blocks with syntax highlighting, task lists (- [ ]), strikethrough (~~text~~), blockquotes, and standard GitHub-flavored formatting. GitHub-style NOTE/WARNING alert callouts and Mermaid diagrams aren't rendered in the PDF output.
